CAMP FLOG GNAW 2024

This past weekend, Tyler, The Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw took place at Dodger Stadium, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a diverse lineup that spanned genres and generations. From Action Bronson to Mike G, Doechii, ScHoolboy Q, André 3000, Raye, and many more, the festival brought together a broad spectrum of talent, delighting fans of all tastes. The two-day event drew a tremendous crowd of both returning and new fans, showcasing the enduring appeal of the festival.

Camp Flog Gnaw has become known for blending a variety of musical acts and sounds, offering a rich tapestry of performances that truly cater to every musical preference. Now in its 10th year in Los Angeles, the festival has once again proven its cultural significance, delivering another unforgettable experience to the iconic stadium.

ACTION BRONSON.

Tyler, The Creator is fresh off the release of his #1 album, ChromaKopia, which dropped on October 28, 2024, less than a month before the festival. The album’s production is impeccably polished, blending potent lyrics with mesmerizing beats. It feels like a departure from Tyler’s earlier work, signaling a bold new direction in his artistic evolution. ChromaKopia showcases his growth as a creator, pushing boundaries while staying true to his unique sound. The album features collaborations with several of the festival's acts, including Sexyy Red, ScHoolboy Q, and Doechii, making it a perfect fit for the event's vibrant and diverse lineup.

SUPER FAN # 1 .

The festival maintains its whimsical charm, with camp counselors guiding guests with information and ensuring everyone's safety. The carnival rides and games returned in full force, offering custom prizes and unique experiences. The three stages—Camp, Flog, and Gnaw—were named after the event itself, adding a personal touch to the festival’s layout. Traveling between stages felt like walking through a portal, transporting you into a different musical realm with every step.

MIKE G X LEFT BRAIN.

One of the highlights of the festival was the nostalgic performances by members of Odd Future, including Mike G and Left Brain, who took the stage on Gnaw. It was a beautiful reminder of how these artists have stayed close over the years, continuously supporting and celebrating one another’s art. The performances not only tapped into the festival’s deep musical roots but also illustrated the enduring bond within this creative collective.

DOECHII X SZA.

Doechii brought out SZA for a performance on the Camp Stage, which was located directly in the center of the event. Doechii is currently on an incredible journey, having released her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Everyone who was there to witness her performance can agree it was something truly special. Her collaboration with SZA, performing “Persuasive”, was a standout moment that the crowd absolutely loved. Later during the festival, Doechii returned to perform “Balloons” with Tyler. These collaborative performances perfectly aligned with the festival’s theme, as many acts joined each other on stage, creating a sense of unity and celebration that resonated throughout the event.

It's refreshing that the festival remains in Los Angeles. The turnout and support for art in the community are at an all-time high. Being able to tune out the noise of the world and the challenges we're facing, even if just for one weekend, to enjoy the highest levels of artistry and creation was truly amazing—and much needed—for all the guests.
